A levy on polluters, to fund the climate response
A Bill in Parliament sets out how the government could raise money from the biggest polluters to fund the climate action we need. Ask your MP to sign Early Day Motion 1386, or make the Make Polluters Pay Pledge.
The Climate Finance Fund Bill, tabled by MP Richard Burgon, would require the government to draw up plans for a fund paid for by a levy on fossil fuel companies and other major polluters to help communities at home and abroad deal with the impacts of climate change.
Fossil fuel giants have made obscene profits while driving us to the brink of climate catastrophe. My Bill is based on the principle that these mega-polluters must fund the climate action we need.
